March 2005 Featured Artist: Bruce Elliott Rasner

An underwater photographer for 16 years. He began in underwater photography as a photo-journalist capturing the magnificent marine life found in our planet's many seas and oceans. Eventually he began to see that many times the details were more beautiful and intriguing than the entire subject. The lure of becoming a serious fine art photographer and using the design elements, colors, textures and patterns found in the ocean realm took Bruce away from his former work in photo-journalism. Bruce's work will be on display at the Dana Arts Plaza First Friday reception in March and thoughout the Whale Festival Weekend. (March 5-6)

Dana Point Coast Arts is organizing a database/registry of members’ talents. We are seeking examples of your work and biographical information that we can present to interested parties such as new projects requiring art, exhibition spaces and commercial clients. We also want to set up themed shows around the area and have samples of members work that will assist us in quickly focusing on the right people for the event. Finally we would like to feature our members on our marketing materials and upcoming web site. Interested members should send the following:
